Getting Better Sounds Great

What exactly does a girl who writes about extraordinarily rough sex have to say about bullying?  I mean really…really…come on.  We’re already all irritated by the constant flow of Facebook posts about animal rescues, gun control, pink ribbons, rainbow ribbons, donate to Obama to keep the Nazis from the White House, donate to Romney to keep the Commies from the White house, and a slew of other causes.  Each post ends with “repost if you believe women shouldn’t be bludgeoned, raped, and spit upon by hate-mongering monsters” or some other call to action designed to make inaction guilt-inspiring. It’s irritating as hell.

So why bullying?  So, why am I going to put up my own cause post?  Shouldn’t I stick to explaining in graphic detail how it feels for one of my heroines to find herself on her knees with an unexpected cock in her throat terrifying her with real concern she won’t ever breathe again? “Come on Regina!  You can really describe a prick slamming into an ass with no warning so your character is right in the middle of a hard and rough double penetration.  That’s what we want from you!”

Yeah, yeah.  I know.  I promise I’ll write a whole lot more of that stuff.  In fact, I have a gangbang queued up right now and am putting the finishing touches on a pretty vicious…what?  NO!  The gangbang isn’t AT any location and you can’t join in!  I mean I have a gangbang story about to be published.  Put your clothes back on!  My goodness!  All I’m saying is that I know I’m not a political analyst, a social pundit, or an advocate for anything.  I’m an erotica writer, and that’s what I plan to do.

However, have any of you tried to tell Molly Synthia no?  It’s just about impossible.  She told me to write a post about ItGetsBetter.org, and when Molly says to write a post that’s what I do.  I’m glad I did.  For a hell of a long time, I’ve believed we approach bullying from the wrong perspective.  We almost always focus all of our resources and efforts on preventing, punishing, and educating bullies.  I just don’t think it will ever work.  There will always be bullies, especially among kids.  The problem is that the tools for bullying have been dramatically upgraded.  Now, a click of a mouse can change one or two asshole football players into viral-video producing monsters.

The environment has changed, but our approach hasn’t.  We still focus on trying to convince bullies not to bully.  I think it’s a lost cause.  I think most bullies don’t comprehend the harm they do, and when we try to warn and convince them; it’s about as effective as telling kids not to have sex or not to drink.  The consequences now, though, are so much greater than they were just fifteen years ago.  What I like about ItGetsBetter.org is the focus the organization places on helping victims of bullying get through it.  I find it strange that it’s such a unique approach when it seems so obvious it’s the right thing to do.

It used to be the place of parents to help their kids figure out how to deal with bullies.  For most of history, that meant teaching your son to box.  Usually, a confronted bully is finished.  Today, though, even a successful confrontation won’t stop the internet, and things go viral without warning.  ItGetsBetter.org focuses on kids who are either unsure of their sexual orientation of certain that their sexual orientation is not heterosexual.  Many of these kids are not yet able to have an open conversation with their parents.  It’s tough enough being in junior high or high school.  Imagine having a problem and having nobody to talk with about it.

Many kids end up in despair, and they desperately need to hear that it does indeed get better.  Tune in the The Naughty Slot tonight and you’ll get a chance to hear what this fabulous organization does.  Finally, (drum roll, please…) Miss Molly has authorized me to give away fifty copies of my best-selling and very rough erotica collection Rough and Reluctant by Regina.  It runs $2.99 on amazon, so all I’m asking is that you donate a buck or two to ItGetsBetter.org.  Instead of me getting the money, the organization does.  So, you can help kids out while you turn yourself on.  Isn’t that the best way to get off?

Electric Lust

Wow!  Nice Ink...like anyone notices the tattoos.
If you’ve read any of my writing and we’re prepared for it, there’s no question you’re going to be shocked.  I do my best to turn you on like nobody’s business, make you cringe at how my heroine is treated, make you feel guilty that it turns you on, and then make you feel all okay about it at the end.  It’s rough sex at its roughest, and if I do my job right, your nipples get hard and your eyes get wide.  When you finish, you either think it’s great or you hate me pure and simple.  Ah, the life I’ve chosen…I specialize in really rough gangbangs involving dubious consent.  I can’t say I’m a brilliant writer, but my writing earns me enough that if I somehow crashed my laptop every week, I could replace it and still afford the groceries, gas, and anything else the family needs.

Does it shock you?
Interestingly, I’ve never really written about sex toys and bondage, which is kind of strange given that my stories are all about women and the illusion of helplessness.  You can bet I’ll be tuning in (Do we call it that when it’s internet radio? Should I say “clicking in” or “browsing in”?) to the Naughty Slot to listen to Anna Fay from Paradise Electro Stimulations, Inc., as she talks to Amber about her particular brand of sex toys.  I have it on good authority (okay, it’s Molly) that there will be some demonstrations tonight.  I know my illustrious publisher is all atwitter over it.  (That’s not “a Twitter” although I’m sure she’ll tweet.)  Hey, who wouldn’t want to watch Amber Grayson Vayle take on a toy, right?

Brand New Meaning
 to the words "Plugged In"
Oh, but Anna isn’t talking about your run of the mill silicone stud-replacement.  Oh no!  This isn’t a latex love tool we’re talking about.  No way, not some plain plastic penis, here.  This isn’t about basic butt plugs or a simple synthetic schlong.  (I’m running out of alliterative ways to talk about vibrators and dildos, so I’m just going to move on.)  If you head over to PES’s website, you’ll figure that out right away.  Look, the three navigation choices complete with full color and explicitly visual pictures are “Vaginal Electrodes”, “Anal Electrodes”, and “Penile Electrodes.”  Well…I know I’ve lost two-thirds of you, and the other third are just reading the rest of this post out of kindness before joining the rest at the PES website to browse and learn.

That’s okay.  You’ll learn a heck of lot more at the website than you will from me, but you’ll really learn if you listen in tonight and hear and watch Anna and Amber.  I know I’ll be listening.  I plan to tease the daylights out of Amber afterwards!  Seriously, though, The Naughty Slot is all about learning and exploring sexuality.  This is likely to be one of the most interesting of all of the shows.

Hard, Harder, Hardest, and Me

Well, in her infinite wisdom, our fearless leader at Mmmmore Productions has insisted that I write a weekly post for The Naughty Slot.  I was reluctant at first because I try to write my little books and that’s it, to hide from the world my real identity as best I can so as not to expose my children or my parents or anyone else to all of the exposure that would bring.  Molly, however, is very convincing, and ultimately I am a bit of a naughty slut, so Naughty Slot is not a big leap.  So, now I have my very own email at http://mollysynthia.com.  I must be moving up in the world.  If you want to communicate with me, you can send me something to reginaransom@mollysynthia.com.  I can’t promise I’ll be checking it every day, but I’ll have to check it once a week in order to make these posts.

I love Amber Grayson Vayle (and I love Molly, too) so it’s neat to be a part of the show in some small way.  My erotica pushes boundaries.  In truth, it takes boundaries and blasts through them.  If you’ve read any of my work, you’ll see I favor very reluctant heroines in very, very, very rough sex.  This means people tend to love or hate my work.  I don’t get a lot of middle of the road reviews.  I get mostly five star reviews or one star reviews.  That’s the nature of dubious consent.  (In my case “dubious” should be italicized, underlined, printed in big bold block letters, and have flashing lights.)  Still, I have a book, Keep The Line Moving, that sells a few thousand copies per month and remained in the top one hundred paid erotica ebooks on Amazon for about three months.  It still flits back into the top one hundred once every week or so.

I guess that means there are enough women out there who want to read the rough stuff, and why not?  We live in a society that still says women are supposed to be demure and proper.  Fantasies of non-consent are paradoxically really about control.  See, a woman may want to be ravished like a two-dollar whore.  She may have that fantasy.  She may have secret desires to sleep with strangers or to be put up on display.  She may dream of being a harem girl or a slave girl.  All of these fantasies are powerful, but they’re fantasies.  My stories let them imagine those circumstances without any loss of control.  Further, the non-consent involved gives the heroine the right to enjoy what happens without having to feel guilty about it.  For years a fantasy or being taken by force has been in the top five fantasies women have.  When you don’t have a choice in the matter, you get to enjoy being a slut without having to feel guilty about it.

Don’t get me wrong.  It’s fantasy.  It’s not reality.  No woman really wants to have no choice, but for plenty of women, the illusion of no choice is a powerful and incredible aphrodisiac.  If you’re familiar with BDSM, you probably already know that it’s the submissive, not the dominant, that’s in control.  The illusion—that’s what makes it great.  I don’t write BDSM, but the example illustrates the nature of roleplay and fantasy in erotica.  My stories aren’t for everyone.  I get one review that says, “Desperate desire requires desperate measures and Lisa was desperate. The sex is hard and hot, the ending is a surprise, you will just have to read it to find out what happens.”  I get another review that says, “I'm sorry but I didn't want to read about a jerk like Alex getting his way. ‘Extremely jealous and volatile boyfriend’ was how Lisa described him in the beginning. The explanation at the end didn't do it for me.”  Both of the reviewers read the same book.  They’re both right.  Maybe the views on hard, hard, hard, hardcore is like Republican vs. Democrat, pretty evenly split.  Each side can’t understand the criticism of the other.

There's a bit of controversy about the rough stuff.  Molly insists that erotica and porn are the same thing.  I'm the kind of author from whom a lot of erotica writers want to differentiate themselves.  It doesn’t matter to me because I write what turns me on.  That’s why I’m happy about the Naughty Slot.  You’re not going to come up with something that turns you on that Amber is going to criticize you over (unless we’re talking real non-consensual violence or sex with kids.)  Like my erotica, the Naughty Slot is a safe place to explore fantasy.  It just so happens that my posts have been assigned to Thursdays.  (Amber calls them Thrustdays, so I guess I'm along for that ride, but shouldn't everyday be a thrust day?)  Thursdays are when the show airs, so be sure to tune in and explore your fantasies.
